Ben Stimpson (He/They/Them) is an award winning author, integrative therapist, spiritual director, podcaster, and independent researcher of folklore and history. Originally hailing from North Wales, UK, he has lived much of his life in Ontario, Canada.

Ben’s academic background is eclectic as he holds a Diploma in Social Work from Humber College (2007); Diploma in Spiritual Psychotherapy from Transformational Arts College; and an Honours Bachelor of Liberal Studies, minoring in classical, medieval, and religious studies from the University of Waterloo. Ben is planning to pursue a Masters in folklore studies in the next few years. Professionally he is a Registered Member with the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).

As a teacher, Ben has developed classes and courses on subjects related to folklore and witchcraft, recordings of which are available on his Patreon page. An internationally acclaimed speaker, he has presented at various conferences and private events including LlewellynCon2023, The Salem Folklore & Witchcraft Festival, Ancestral Pathways Conference, and others. He has guested on over a hundred podcasts, and hosts his own show Essence with Ben Stimpson.

In 2023, Ben’s debut title Ancestral Whispers: A Guide to Developing Ancestral Veneration practices was released, which received to much acclaim the 2024 COVR Gold Medal in the folk religion category. He is currently working on developing other projects to be released in 2026 and 2027.
